POP UP STORE at ROPPONGI HILLS

“HOTEL KOALA”, an experiential pop-up store opened at Roppongi Hills pop-up space for one month from August 2020.

The concept of this retail experience was based off the idea of creating a fictional resort boutique hotel to give visitors the feeling of traveling, even if only for a short moment, whilst travel was restricted due to quarantine caused by the pandemic. The store is decorated with a variety of tropical plants so that customers can experience a simulated vacation to an overseas resort just by taking a deep breath. The interior was decorated with attention to detail, including wallpaper, neon signs, and displays, as well as fragrances, music, and even the aloha shirts worn by the staff, creating a luxurious space where customers could not only shop, but also enjoy a relaxing moment in paradise.

Despite limited foot traffic in town compared to previous years due to the pandemic, we achieved the top record for the number of purchases at our monthly pop-up store in this space, which has been held every month since October 2019.
